2.5. Verbos Reflexivos

Usos

  1. En las construcciones reflexivas, el sujeto y el objeto (complemento directo o indirecto) se refieren a la misma persona o cosa. In reflexive constructions, both the subject and the indirect object (be it direct or indirect) refer back to the same person or thing.
    • (yo) Me encontré en medio de una tormenta. ⇨ I found myself in the middle of a storm.

  2. Las construcciones reflexivas son frecuentes en español. Estos son los pronombres que emplean. Reflexive constructions are quite frequent in Spanish. They use the following set of pronouns.

3. El pronombre “se” unido a un verbo en infinitivo (levantarse, peinarse, despertarse), indica que un verbo es reflexivo. The pronoun “se” attached to the infinitive indicates when a verb is a reflexive verb.

Ejemplos:

    • Nos cuidamos mucho.  We take care of ourselves.
    • ¿Cómo te llamas? What is your name?
    • Juan se cortó un dedo cocinando.
    • No queremos mojarnos la ropa. We don’t want to get our clothes wet.
    • Se arregla un poco la corbata. He fixes his necktie a bit.
